Hospital Posts
The West Riding GP training programme
has hospital posts on all of the sites
of the Mid Yorks Hospital NHS Trust -
Dewsbury, Wakefield and Pontefract. Dewsbury
is the newer of the three hospitals and
the most recent to join Pinderfields and
Pontefract General Infirmary. Building
work has started on a major redevelopment
at both Pinderfields and Pontefract -
and indeed the Postgraduate Medical Education
Centre at Pontefract moved into new premises
in January 2007.
All of our rotations have 18 months
spent in general practice. Our training
posts are quite geographically spread
but we try and ensure that candidates
are allocated to general practice
posts in the same area as their hospital
posts.
Innovative or modular posts provide
training in specialities but are based
in general practice. We aim o offer
all our training doctors one innovative
or modular post per rotation. Click
